This module will provide people at any level and in any sector, with guidance that will help them to handle objects safely whilst minimising the risk of injury.

By completing this course, you will be able to demonstrate an awareness and knowledge of the following;

· Explain why it is important to move and handle objects carefully

· Describe how your spine works

· Identify common injuries and explain how to avoid them

· List the key factors to take into account before undertaking the moving or lifting of a load

· Identify key legislation and employer/employee responsibilities

In this module we will look at; what manual handling is, and what the manual handling operations regulations defines as manual handling.
